Inventories

 

The inventory should record not only the chemical, but its supplier, annual volumes used, CAS & EINECS/ELINCS numbers, hazards, uses, exposure data and control conditions.  Some of this data should be passed up the supply chain to the manufacturer and/or importer to enable them to register the chemical for a particular use, or application.

 

Polymers are exempt (but not excluded) from registration under REACH. Nevertheless the monomers used to manufacture the polymer are not exempt. Importers of polymers, or products containing polymers, will need to obtain details of all substances present within the polymer in order to ensure those substances have been pre-registered, and therefore import of the polymer is not restricted.
