Every product we use within our lives has the potential to make some impact upon the environment.  The air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat, all contain naturally occurring chemicals.

Emissions from products that contain volatile organic chemicals (VOC's) represent a relatively minor portion of the total VOC emissions.  Other sources include emission gases from vehicle exhausts, manufacturing plants, combustion, the power industries, aswell as natural emissions from trees, vegetation, and even cows.

The SIA offers advice and guidance to producers, distributors, and consumers of solvents to help minimise the potential of environmental impact.
