About SIA

Since its establishment, the SIA has sought to promote the UK's Solvent consumers, distributors and manufacturers.

Our products are touching the lives of millions of people everyday from the food we eat, to the clothes we wear.

The SIA is the single point of contact that industry and government can use as the medium to educate and advocate best practise. There are two principle bodies within the SIA, managing and directing the work programme. These are the Executive Committee and the Technical Subcommittee.

The Executive Committee is made up of 12 Directors representing the spectrum of the association. These Directors are voted onto the Committee each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) by the members. The Directors will meet 5 times a year and report all findings and items of discussion through the Minutes of these meetings, available to the membership via the website.

The Technical Subcommittee is made up from the memberships own resources, bringing together specialist knowledge in areas of handling, storage, transportation and legislation to name a few. The work program for the Technical Subcommittee is drawn up in conjunction with the Executive Committee and reported back to those Directors at each meeting.

The Technical Subcommittee will also meet 5 times a year and present findings to the membership through the website.

Both Committees give a presentation to the membership at the AGM for which there is an open forum.
